Founded in 2017, Mumbai Marines rose to fame by achieving 3 promotions in 3 consecutive seasons thereby lifting themselves from third division (5th tier) to Super division (2nd tier). They managed to reach the semi-final of the first division in 2021-2022 despite having a shoestring budget. They are in no mood to slow down and they aim to reach the top division of Indian football in the next 7 years. Unlike other lower-division clubs, Mumbai Marines have a solid social media presence. Jersey launches, matchday updates, etc. are being done professionally by the club authorities which helped to build brand value for the club. DafaNews, the online sports news website, is the principal sponsor of Mumbai Marines this season and DafaNews has never associated with a local community-based football club before.

They are up against Veniza Virar scheduled on the 13th Sept 2022 followed by the game against Mumbai Ultras on 28th September.
