Jamshedpur FC’s Latest Signing: Sreekuttan VS Poised to Make Impact

After a series of departures, Jamshedpur FC has declared their new signing. Sreekuttan Viruthiyil Santhosh, a winger/forward from Thissur, (Kerela) has signed for JFC for the upcoming Indian Super League (ISL) season. Sreekuttan VS is a 25-year-old winger and has committed to the Men of Steel for three years, with his experience in the I-League and AFC he is a top addition to the Jamshedpur FC’s squad.

He signed his first professional contract with local club FC Kerela in 2019-20 season. Afterwards, Sreekuttan began playing for ARA Fc and made 4 appearances and then went on to play for the reserve side of Kerala Blasters for the 2020–21 Kerala Premier League season. Sreekuttan was successful and his striking performance in the tournament earned him a raise to the senior side for the pre-season of the 2021–22 ISL season. Gokulam Kerala, the defending champions of the I-League, wasted no time and secured him on loan for the 2021–22 season.

Even though he is mostly utilised as a right winger, this versatile player can be deployed as a centre forward and left wingers as well. The 25 years old has the experience of playing top competitions like AFC Cup and has the hunger to prove himself in the top division of Indian football.

Sreekuttan at Gokulam Kerala FC

Sreekuttan joined the Malabraian in December 2021 as a loan deal from Kerala Blasters FC. During his stint with Gokulam Kerala, Sreekuttan played a crucial role in the team’s success. In 69 matches, he scored six goals and provided nine assists, contributing significantly to Gokulam Kerala’s defense of their I-League title, making them the first club in fifteen years to achieve this feat. In I-League 2023-24, Sreekuttan played 17 matches where he started 10 of them. He scored thrice in the campaign and also helped the team with 4 assists. This is his personal best figure during the three-year tenure at Gokulam Kerela.

After all the departures Jamshedpur FC is ready to unveil their new signings. Sreekuttan will join with Nongdamba Naorem, Komal Thatal, Imran Khan, Sanan, and many more. These young players can bring colours to the Men of Steel’s forward line. Khalid Jamil is known for working with these young footballers and helping them to achieve their highest potential. Jamshedpur secured 21 points in last year’s ISL. Jamshedpur is making changes in their squad, and it is expected that this year, the club will perform better than the previous year.
